DESCRIPTION : 

A combination of artisanal weaving and hand block printing using natural dyes. The fabric is handwoven with a striped design by skilled artisans from Khamir Craft, using Kala cotton (an indigenous rain-fed cotton). The fabric is then hand block printed using carved wooden blocks and natural dyes.

• Machine wash at 30°C

An antithesis to mass-produced fast-fashion, KARDO was launched in 2013 with a desire to slow things down and celebrate the small details in menswear. Inspired by workwear and traditional tailoring, KARDO dresses the modern man with subtle twists on classic silhouettes.

HANDMADE WITH MINUTE DETAILS
KARDO honours traditional weaving, dyeing and printing techniques in India for its collections, using fabrics such as natural dyed handloom, block print, IKAT, natural indigo denim, Shibori and Chikankari embroidery. We actively support and collaborate with handloom weaving communities across India with the hope that these traditional techniques do not die out and that our environmental impact is as low as possible.

We go a step further through our specialized “ONExONE” production of our garments where each item is cut by hand, stitched by one tailor from beginning to end and carefully hand-finished.

IT'S NOT WHERE IT'S MADE THAT MATTERS, BUT WHO MADE IT AND UNDER WHAT CONDITIONS
Designed and manufactured in our own workshop in New Delhi, India, we celebrate our workers by paying fair wages for their craftsmanship and providing a safe and healthy work environment. The provenance of our garments is acknowledged by attaching a tag to each garment highlighting the hands involved in the making of each piece.
